Playdate
Annika has a friend named Paul. They are very close in age (about a two week difference) and they like playing together. I work with Paul's mom, Christine, and we do Weight Watchers and the gym together. Today we took Paul and Annika to the park for a little picnic. Both Paul and Annika like the sandbox and they did a pretty good job of sharing.
Stitches West
Kellie, Konami, Haydee and I went to Stitches West in San Jose. It's a huge expo of various yarn sellers, pattern makers, and other knitting/crochet stuff. It's a little overwhelming, but lots of fun.

Happy Valentine's Day
Kellie had Annika and me over for dinner tonight. She got Vietnamese sandwiches for us and then Annika got to play with the cats (Peanut and Kitty). It was a very nice way to spend the evening!

Taking the Bus to the Library
Annika and I like to go to story time at the library on Saturday mornings. Normally we walk, but today we decided to take the bus. It only took about ten minutes each way which was the perfect amount for Annika's attention span.
We met a man who used to go to Neptune Beach when he was a child. This was really interesting because it closed about 60 years ago and in its prime it was comparable to Coney Island--there were rollercoasters, an Olympic-sized pool, dancing hall, arcades, and lots of other stuff. In fact the man we met told us there even used to be caged animals like monkeys. All of this used to be located aat today's Crab Cove--about five blocks from where Annika and I live.

Tilden Park with Kellie and Konami
Today Kellie organized a picnic to Tilden Park in Berkeley. We saw the farm animals and the carousel and next time we'll do a ride on the steam engine.

Annika in a Rebozo
Some of the women I work with are Mayans from Guatemala. Many of these women use rebozos (a type of sling) to carry their babies on their backs or in front. One of the women showed me how to put Annika in the rebozo on my back. I used some fabric that I had bought a while ago.
