April 7, 2010: A's vs. Mariners

On Wednesdays, it's $2 tickets to A's games and $1 hotdogs once you're in the game. The A's played the Mariners for the first series of the season. When we got there, they were sold out of $2 tickets, but someone with extra tickets gave us two tickets for free!

As you can see, we were pretty high up in the stands!

April 6, 2010: Annika Can Crawl

She's not fast or coordinated, but at least she's going forward! Yesterday she started moving forward toward objects instead of her usual backward scoot. She still tends to go in reverse more often than not, but if I put something really high-interest (like the remote controls) she'll go forward.

April 3, 2010: Easter at Dunsmuir Estate

Yesterday Kellie and I took Annika to an Easter egg hunt at Dunsmuir Estate. The estate was build around 1900 and has huge grounds with many different buildings. It felt like walking into a Jane Austen book set in the Victorian age. The house was beautiful and has so many details, like inlaid hardwood floors and mahogany beams. My favorite part was the kitchen because it seemed to be the area that is most "livable" and functioning. Here is a photo of the house as you approach it (after passing a sweet little pond with a gazebo and ducks):

The toddler area egg hunt looked like a lot of fun and next year Annika will be ready to participate.

After touring the house, we had a picnic on the grass. Here are some photos from the picnic.

March 30, 2010: Birthday Dinner with Kellie and Konami

Kellie and Konami were so sweet and wanted to take me out to dinner for my birthday. They waited until Dad left town and then took me to Burma Superstar (I love that restaurant!). Kellie made an adorable Easter hat for Annika. She said that she designed it herself by taking elements from two different hats and combining them. Kellie is such a great knitter!

Here is a picture of Kellie and Konami. I am so lucky to have them for friends!

March 29, 2010: Goodbye Grandpa!

Dad left on Monday and I think Annika missed him. She spent the day in a kind of fussy mood and when she heard his voice on the answering machine she started babbling and smiling. Here are some photos of the two of them.
