Hand Knit from Konami

Konami made Annika this super cute hat. We took Annika to the mall in this outfit and she looked better dressed than either of her parents!

Labor Day at the River

Today Julian and I went to a barbecue for the employees of Cafe Rouge. This was the first time Julian's coworkers had met Annika and everyone loved her and she enjoyed being held nonstop. I think it was really tiring for her to be out, though, because she slept through the night and didn't even wake up when I fed her at 3am--she slept right through the feeding (but she did eat)!

Julian took his nephew, Aldahir, with us to the river. Annika loves her cousin!

Here are Aldahir's brothers and his mom, Annika's aunt Mari.

Farmer's Market

On Saturdays and Tuesdays the farmer's market happens in Alameda. It is less than a block from my apartment and has great vendors with veggies, fruit, prepared food, and flowers. Yesterday Annika and I went there and got some tomatoes, chiles (Julian is going to make chile rellenos tonight!), and melons.

Objectionable Content

Someone flagged my blog as having possible objectionable content, which I assume was because of my La Leche League post. I think Google decided that it wasn't objectionable because there isn't a notice anymore on the blog. It really bothers me that the photo could have been considered objectionable because you really can't see anything in the photo, at least no more than you'd see if someone were wearing a low-cut top. I was thinking it might be because there are some people who have fetishes about breastfeeding and perhaps someone thought I was trying to attract those people to the blog. In that case, do blogs with photos of pedicures also get flagged? All of this really bugs me because today I was reading an article that said that millions of children could be saved a year if more people breastfed their babies and my photo is an endorsement of this activity. Urgh. I'm really frustrated, but I think I am blowing this a little out of proportion.

Tummy Time!

Now that Annika is getting older, she is supposed to spend time every day on her tummy in order to develop her neck and other muscles. We started this yesterday and so far she doesn't do much until she starts crying, then she lifts her head as much as she can. Since I don't want this to be an activity that Annika hates, we only spend a few minutes at it and I'm going to increase it a little every day.
